Iran Sympathizes with Azerbaijan over Copter Crash

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian Foreign Ministry’s spokesman sympathized with the Republic of Azerbaijan over the fatal crash of a military helicopter.

In a statement on Tuesday, Saeed Khatibzadeh offered his condolences to the government and people of Azerbaijan over the crash and expressed sympathy with the families of the victims

Fourteen people have been killed after a military helicopter crashed during a training flight in Azerbaijan on Tuesday.

Earlier Tuesday, the country's border service and prosecutor general said in a joint statement that "a military helicopter belonging to Azerbaijan's state border service crashed today at Garakheybat airfield in the Khyzy region at approximately 10:40 am (GMT 0640) while conducting a training flight."

They said an investigation was underway into the accident's causes.
