Two Civilians Killed, Medical Staff Injured in Saudi Air Raids on Yemen
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – At least two civilians were killed and four medical staff members of a hospital were injured as a result of Saudi air raids on the Al-Sawad neighborhood of Sanhan District, south of the Yemeni capital of Sana'a.
Yemen's al-Masirah TV channel said early Thursday that Saudi-led warplanes had struck locations in the Sanhan district of Sana'a, causing damage to a hospital and injuring four hospital staffers, two of them critically.
The attack also caused a state of panic among patients, the report added.
According to a different al-Masirah source, two Yemenis were killed in airstrikes on Hudaydah's al-Garrahi region.
In March 2015, Saudi Arabia launched a deadly military campaign against its southern neighbor, working with a number of allies and receiving supplies and logistical help from the United States and other Western countries.
The aim was to return to power the former Riyadh-backed regime and crush the popular Ansarullah movement which has been running state affairs in the absence of an effective government in Yemen.
The war has stopped well shy of all of its goals, despite killing tens of thousands of Yemenis and turning entire Yemen into the scene of the world’s worst humanitarian crisis.
Meanwhile, Yemeni forces have in recent months gone from strength to strength against the Saudi-led invaders and left Riyadh and its allies bogged down in Yemen.
