Beiralvand Champion in Men's Weightlifting 96kg: ISG 2021

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Reza Beiralvand lifted 167kg in snatch and 194kg in clean and jerk, and won three gold medals with a total of 361kg in the men's weightlifting 96 kilos competition at the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games on Sunday.

Uzbekistan’s Usarov Sunnatille, who won the bronze medal with 164kg in snatch and 190kg in clean and jerk, won the silver medal with a total of 354kg.

Saudi Arabian Ali Alothman, who lifted 157kg in snatch and 192kg in the clean and jerk, won the bronze medal with a total of 349kg.

The 2021 Islamic Solidarity Games are being held in Konya, Turkey, from August 9 to 18, 2022. It is a multinational, multi-sport event that is played between the athletes from the nations of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

With an exception of the 2010 Games, it has taken place every four years since its debut in 2005 at Mecca, Saudi Arabia.

The Islamic Solidarity Games are organized and directed by the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation and the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation, but for the first time in history, the event is organized by the Turkish Olympic Committee.
