Iran, Syria Explore Ways to Boost Industrial Cooperation

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Officials from Iran and Syria reviewed ways to boost bilateral industrial cooperation.

During a meeting between Iranian Ambassador to Damascus Mahdi Sobhani and Syrian Minister of Industry Ziad Sabbagh, the two sides discussed ways to increase the existing joint coordination in order to resume work on their joint industrial projects in Syria as well as overcoming the obstacles, and sharing experiences in doing so, SANA reported.

The Syrian minister updated the Iranian ambassador on the most recent changes done to the Arab country's economic and industrial condition as well as signs of its recovery in light of the measures made to combat the effects of the siege and economic war inflicted on Syria by the West.

He also highlighted his government's desire to cooperate with friendly nations in order to give all the necessities for the industrial sector's recovery, which had suffered severe harm during the terrorist war waged on Syria.

The Iranian ambassador, for his part, reaffirmed the Islamic Republic’s stance in favor of the Syrian people and called for the two nations to increase their productive and promising industrial relationship and cooperation.
