Shaikh Salman to Be AFC President for Third Term
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Asian Football Confederation (AFC) president Shaikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa is the only candidate for the presidency of the continental confederation for 2023-2027.
The deadline for candidacy for the presidential elections and membership of the executive office ended on Saturday.
This paves the way for his official election as president for a third term during the General Assembly of the federation, which will be held in Manama on February 1, 2023.
Shaikh Salman has received official messages from all the 47 Asian national associations supporting his continuity as the AFC president.
