Russian, Chinese Warships Complete Joint Patrol in Pacific Deployment
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Russian and Chinese navies wrapped up their joint patrol in the Pacific Ocean, Russia’s Defense Ministry reported on Tuesday.
"Ships of the Russian and Chinese navies have completed their second joint patrol of the Pacific Ocean," the ministry said in a statement, TASS reported.
The Russian Pacific Fleet’s warships have already returned to Vladivostok. The Russian and Chinese warships conducted their joint Pacific patrol during three weeks, covering a total distance of over 7,000 nautical miles and passing through the Sea of Japan, the Sea of Okhotsk, the Bering, Philippine and South China Seas. They deployed to the Bering Sea and rounded a part of the archipelago of the Aleutian Islands, the ministry said.
"Naval sailors of Russia and China practiced maneuvering as part of various ship formations and providing communications between the naval group’s warships. They jointly exercised to practice anti-submarine warfare missions, master the operations of search and rescue at sea, provide air defense for naval groups and carry out flights by deck-based anti-submarine and search/rescue helicopters," the statement reads.
