Iranian President Warns France against Backing Islamophobia

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The president of Iran warned against the dominance of extremism and supports for Islamophobia in France, calling on the new French ambassador to relay the realities of the Iranian society to his government.

After receiving the credentials of new French ambassador Nicolas Roche in Tehran on Tuesday, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi warned against the prevalence of extremism and supports for Islamophobia in France.

The president also expressed regret at the miscalculations of some European countries regarding Iran's internal developments, describing it as a result of lack of understanding of the Iranian nation's greatness and dependence on hostile information sources.

Raisi also advised the new French ambassador to consider conveying the facts of Iran's society correctly to the ruling body of France as his main duty, the president’s website reported.

Roche, for his part, expressed hope for the improvement of cooperation between the two countries.

"On behalf of the French president, I have a mission to try to resolve the misunderstandings in the relations and develop the cooperation between the two countries," the envoy said.
