Iraq Edges Iran at 2023 AFC U-20 Asian Cup Quarters
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iraq became the first team to book its place in the AFC U-20 Asian Cup Uzbekistan 2023 semifinals with a late 1-0 victory against Iran on Saturday.
In the match, held at the JAR Stadium in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, The Lions of Mesopotamia also secured the first of four tickets to the FIFA U-20 World Cup Indonesia 2023, returning to the global event for the first time since 2013.
Ali Jasim scored the winner in injury time.
Iraq awaits the winner between Japan and Jordan in the semi-final at the same stadium on Wednesday.
