CAFA U-20 Championship: Iran Victorious over Turkmenistan
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran football team beat Turkmenistan 3-0 in the CAFA U-20 Championship 2023 on Friday.
Reza Mirzaeian (two goals) and Mehdi Mahdavi scored for Iran.
The team, headed by Ali Doosti-Mehr, had lost to Uzbekistan in its first match on Sunday but defeated Afghanistan 4-1 in the second match.
Iran is scheduled to meet Tajikistan on Sunday.
The tournament has brought Tajikistan, Iran, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan together.
The Central Asian Football Association (CAFA) is one of five regional bodies of governance in association football in Asia.
