TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met and held talks with Iranian First Vice President Mohammad Mokhber on the sidelines of the inauguration ceremony of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara Sunday.
During the meeting, the two sides stressed the significance of advancing the mechanism of bartering in bilateral trade.
The Pakistani prime minister recalled his recent meeting with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and said that reopening of border markets is a step forward to strengthening bilateral ties in trade and economic fields.
Sharif termed the advancement of the bartering mechanism with Iran ‘satisfactory’, saying it will be in the interest of the people of both countries.
He added that Islamabad is committed to promoting bilateral relations in all fields, especially in the economic sphere.
Iran’s first joint border market with Pakistan in Pishin of Sistan and Balouchestan province started operating in a ceremony earlier this year by the Iranian president and the Pakistani premier.
