Antonio Manicone Added to Iran Coaching Staff

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Antonio Manicone of Italy has been added to Iran national football team's coaching staff.

The Italian coach is the newest member of Iran staff.

Manicone, who has played in Italian teams Inter, Palermo, Genoa and Perugia, started his coaching career in Inter in 2004 and has also worked as assistant in Lazio, Switzerland's national football team, and Bordeaux.

The 56-year-old coach was introduced to Team Melli players on Monday at the Iran football federation’s training camp.

Manicone will assist Amir Ghalenoei in the 2023 CAFA Nations Cup, scheduled from June 10 to 20 in Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.

Team Melli is in Group A along with Kyrgyzstan and Afghanistan.

Group A consists of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Oman.
