IRISL Launches Direct Shipping Line to Syria

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines (IRISL) has launched a direct containerized shipping line to Syria for transporting cargo to and from the Arab country.

IRISL on Wednesday announced that Iranian products will be carried to the destination of Syria monthly and regularly.

With the coordination made in this regard, 14 voyages were planned in the last Persian calendar year (ended March 20, 2023), according to which 6,522 TEU cargoes were transported to Syria.

In the meantime, the national fleet of the Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines put a regular program of cargo transportation to Syria atop the agenda, based on which, at least one voyage has been planned in every month for exporting Iranian products to Syria.

All owners of goods have been urged to assign their export cargoes for transporting to Syria in cooperation with the containerized transport company of the Group of Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines.

The IRISL also launched a direct shipping line between Iran and Venezuela in 2022.

With the activation of a direct shipping line for exporting Iranian products to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, the IRISL dispatched the third vessel in May 2023.
