Iranian Fencer Abedini Wins Silver at Seoul Grand Prix
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Mojtaba Abedini from Iran claimed a silver medal in the 2016 SK Telecom Seoul Grand Prix for men’s sabre on Saturday.
He lost to Eli Dershwitz from USA 15/9 in the final match and won the silver medal.
Abedini defeated France’s Tom Seitz 15/7 in the table of 64.
He beat South Korean Young Won Woo 15/13 in the table of 32.
In the table of 16, Abedini defeated Hungarian Aron Szilagyi 15/10.
The Iranian fencer defeated Junghwan Kim from South Korea 15/14 and advanced to the semifinals. He booked an Olympic quota place as well.
Abedini qualified for the final match after beating Italian Diego Occhiuzzi 15/12.
