Iran Beaten by Cuba at FIVB Volleyball U-21 World Championship

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran suffered its first defeat at the FIVB Volleyball Men’s U-21 World Championship on Tuesday.

The Iranian team lost to Cuba 3-2 (25-22, 25-23, 19-25, 13:25, 15-8) in Pool E in Brno, Czech Republic.

Cuba’s Osniel Lazaro Melgarejo Hernandez topped the overall scorers’ chart of the match with 20 points.

Rasoul Aghchehli led Iran with 18 points.

The Iranian team has been scheduled to meet China on Wednesday.

Behrouz Ataei’s boys had already defeated Italy, Ukraine and Argentina in Pool C.

The 2017 FIVB Volleyball Men's U-21 World Championship is the nineteenth edition of the international volleyball tournament and the world championship for men's national teams under the age of 21, organized by the sport's world governing body, FIVB.
