Syria Army Deals Hard Blow to Terrorists in Idlib

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Syrian military forces targeted the positions of al-Nusra Front in Idlib in response to the terrorists continued breaches of a de-escalation zone agreement in the northwestern province.

Syrian troops pounded the gatherings of the terrorists the towns of Naker, tramla, Ma’ar Zeita and Kfar Sijna to in south of Idlib, SANA news agency reported.

The army troops also managed to cut off a major supply route belonging to the terror group in the area of Ma’arat al-Numan in Idlib.

Large groups of the militants were killed and injured during the counterattacks.

The areas where the clashes broke out are located in a planned buffer zone, which surrounds Idlib and also parts of the adjacent provinces of Aleppo and Hama.

Under a deal reached following a meeting between Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in September, all militants should have withdrawn from the demilitarization zone by October 15.

However, al-Qaeda-linked Takfiri terrorists said they refuse to either leave the buffer zone or hand over their weapons.
