Team Melli will meet the East Asian team on Tuesday at the Hong Kong Stadium in Group C.
Marc Wilmots will make his competitive bow as head coach of Islamic Republic of Iran.
Wilmots took charge of Iran in May as replacement for Carlos Queiroz and is aiming for qualification for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
