TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran outside hitter Milad Ebadipour says that the Iranian national volleyball team needed to beat Argentina at the FIVB Men’s World Cup.

Iran national volleyball team defeated Argentina 3-2 (25-27, 25-23, 25-19, 17-25, 15-10) in Hiroshima.

"It was a tough game. They play an amazing game. I’m happy that we won. Argentina is one of the best teams in the world,” Ebadipour said.

“This game was important for us. We needed to win this game. We were behind 2-1 and had an amazing comeback," Ebadipour said.

Iran coach Igor Kolakovic also said their services were crucial in the match.

"It was a tough game with a lot of emotion on both sides. We did not lose our concentration. We had a good service after the third set,” Kolakovic said in the post-match press conference."
