Iran Secures Narrow Win over China at IWBF Asia Oceania C’ships
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s men’s team made a winning start to the International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF) Asia Oceania Championships in Pattaya, Thailand by overcoming China.
The Iranian team secured a narrow 64-60 victory against China thanks to Morteza Abedi who scored 27 points.
Iran is scheduled to play Japan tomorrow.
Iran’s women’s team also eased past Cambodia 40-22 in its opening match and will play India on Monday.
The competition has four spots available for men and three for women at Tokyo 2020, with one spot in each already allocated to Japan as the host nation.
The games have brought 14 men’s teams and eight women’s teams together.
