Iran Fully Prepared to Take Revenge on US: IRGC Navy Commander
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy said Iran is fully prepared and cannot wait to take revenge against the US for the martyrdom of the IRGC Quds Force’s commander, Major General Qassem Soleimani.
“The enemy has (wrongly) thought that by the physical elimination of Haj Qassem Soleimani, it will also be able to eliminate the zealous revolutionary movement that roots and power throughout the region,” Rear Admiral Ali Reza Tangsiri said in a statement on Saturday.
The enemy is unaware of the fact that the Axis of Resistance and its struggle against the global arrogance (the US) has won the hearts of the peoples of the region in a way that it cannot be eliminated by the physical elimination of its fighters, he added.
“We are prepared and cannot wait to take great revenge on the criminals and perpetrators behind this crime and to show the revolutionary anger against the Zionist and American currents,” the commander went on to say.
General Soleimani, the deputy head of Iraq’s Hashd al-Sha'abi, and a number of their entourage were killed in a strike by American drones near Baghdad International Airport in the early hours of Friday.
The White House and the Pentagon claimed responsibility for the assassination of General Soleimani in Iraq, saying the attack was carried out at the direction of US President Donald Trump.
In a message on Friday morning, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei warned that harsh revenge awaits the criminals behind the martyrdom of General Soleimani.
Ayatollah Khamenei also reminded all friends and enemies of the Iranian general that the resistance path will continue vigorously, stressing that continued battle and ultimate victory will disappoint the murderers and criminals.
