Esteghlal Beats Zob Ahan in Iran Professional League
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Esteghlal football team defeated Zob Ahan 2-1 in the Iran Professional League (IPL) on Sunday.
In the match, held behind closed doors in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium, Mohammad Daneshgar opened Zob Ahan’s goal with a header in the 29th minute, but Darko Bjedov levelled the match in the 49th minute.
Three minutes later, Esteghlal captain Vouria Ghafouri scored the winner form the penalty spot.
Shahr Khodro also defeated Naft Masjed Soleyman 2-1 in Mashhad.
In Isfahan, Sepahan and Persepolis match was cancelled after Sepahan didn’t arrive to the stadium on time.
Persepolis leads the IPL table with 41 points, followed by Tractor and Esteghlal with 37 and 36 points.
