Iranian Official Advises UAE, Bahrain Not to Pave Way for Israel

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – An adviser to the Iranian parliament speaker cautioned the United Arab Emirate and Bahrain to avoid preparing the ground for Israeli plots in the region, warning the two Arab regimes to be mindful of tough days following their decision to normalize ties with the Zionist regime.

In a post on his Twitter account, Iranian parliament speaker’s adviser for international affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian denounced the Bahraini regime’s plan to establish diplomatic relations with the fake Zionist regime of Israel as a high treason against the Islamic cause and the people of Palestine in their efforts to liberate holy al-Quds (Jerusalem).

He also advised the “imprudent” Emirati and Bahraini rulers not to pave the way for the Zionist plots in the region, to think of the difficult days, and learn lessons from history.

“Tomorrow will be late. The US’ saving rope has worn out for years,” he added.

His comments came after Bahrain agreed to normalize ties with Israel as part of a diplomatic push by US President Donald Trump.

In a joint statement, the United States, Bahrain and Israel said the agreement was reached after Trump spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Bahrain's King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on Friday.

The agreement comes only a month after the United Arab Emirates became the first Persian Gulf Arab country to reach a deal on normalizing relations with Israel.

Bahrain is the fourth Arab nation to reach such a deal with Israel after Egypt, Jordan and the UAE.

The Palestinian Authority (PA) has condemned the Bahrain-Israel normalization deal as another betrayal by an Arab state.

Hamas, which controls the Gaza Strip, said the deal was an “aggression” that dealt “serious prejudice” to the Palestinian cause.
