Hamed Amiri Wins Gold in Javelin at World Para Athletics Grand Prix

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Hamed Amiri snatched a gold medal at the Men’s Javelin Throw of the 2021 World Para Athletics Grand Prix on Wednesday.

He won the gold at the F53/54 with a throw of 30.96 meters.

Para athletes from Greece and Slovakia came second and third in the event, respectively.

Dubai is hosting the first of seven events planned for this season, all of which will act as qualifiers for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.

More than 600 Para athletes from 63 countries are confirmed for the four-day competition at the Dubai Club for People of Determination, part of the UAE’s Fazza International Athletics Championships.
