Iran Exports $31.4 Million Non-Oil Products to African States in One Month

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran exported 71,087 tons of non-oil products, worth $31,481,000, to 23 African states in the first month of the current Iranian calendar year of 1402 (March 21 to April 20, 2023).

Vice President of the Iran and Africa Merchants Club Seyed Rouhollah Latifi announced this on Saturday and stated that ferrous and steel products accounted for half of the items exported from Iran to African countries in this period.

He went on to say that 29,602 tons of ferrous products, valued at $16,201,162, were exported from Iran to African countries from March to April 2023, accounting for 51.5 percent share of Iran’s total exports to Africa.

Chemical and plastic products, industrial equipment and machinery, flooring, sulfur sodium, white cement, medicines, toys and glassware were also among the products exported from Iran to the African continent in this period, Latifi said.

Among African countries, Ghana was the first destination for the export of Iranian products, followed by South Africa, Tanzania, Kenya and Sudan respectively, he added.

He also said that 4,329 tons of products, valued at $5,879,482, were imported by Iran from nine African countries in the first month of the current year.

Iran and Africa enjoy high potentials for enhancing bilateral trade, Latifi added.
