Iran Narrowly Loses to Cuba: 2023 VNL
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran was edged by Cuba 3-2 (25-22, 26-28, 25-23, 28-30, 15-10) in the 2023 Volleyball Nations League Week 3 early Monday.
Cuban Jesus Herrera Jaime collected 28 points and Bardia Saadat scored 17 points for Iran.
Iran had lost to France, Bulgaria and Argentina in Anaheim, the US in Week 3.
Iran played without several key players and its head coach Behrouz Ataei after the US government didn’t issue their visas.
Team Melli was defeated against Japan, Poland, Slovenia, Italy, the Netherlands, the US, France, Bulgaria, Argentina and Cuba and beat China and Germany in 12 matches.
