Persepolis Goalkeeper Beiranvand Hails Teammates

Omid Alishah's second half goal sealed a 1-0 win for the two-time AFC Champions League runner-up as it bounced back from an opening day defeat to Saudi Arabia's Al Nassr.

The iconic Beiranvand paid tribute to Persepolis' resilience at the Abdullah Bin Khalifa Stadium in Doha.

“I enjoyed the win as we showed we are a good team. We expected a very tough match but we were able to hold our own,” said the Iran international to the club's website.

“We are in one of the most difficult groups but we asserted our quality against a good Al Duhail side. I hope we can continue with this form domestically as well as on the continental front,” he added.
