Qatar Asks West to Pressure Israel to Stop Onslaught on Gaza

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The foreign minister of Qatar called on Western governments to pressure the Israeli regime to end its brutal strikes on the Gaza Strip immediately.

In a telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian on Monday, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani condemned the Zionist regime’s crimes against Palestine.

Qatar has always been a supporter of the Palestinian nation, he added.

The senior Qatari diplomat urged Western governments to pressure the Zionist regime to stop the military strikes on Palestinians as soon as possible.

For his part, Amirabdollahian said all Muslim nations are duty-bound to back and defend the Palestinian nation.

He also warned that the escalation of the Zionist regime’s crimes would further complicate the situation in Palestine and the region.

The two foreign ministers also called for continued interaction and consultation among Islamic countries in support of Palestine.

On October 7, the Palestinian fighters launched a hybrid surprise operation outside Gaza after Israeli settlers stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in recent days and a record number of Palestinians were killed by Israel in recent months.

The Zionist regime has responded by pounding the besieged Gaza Strip after formally declaring war against the Palestinian Hamas group.

The latest death toll stands at 704 Palestinians, according to health officials, and more than 1,100 Israelis.
