Just Win Will Suffice for Nassaji against Navbahor: ACL Matchday 4
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Nassaji Mazandaran football team knows only a win will suffice when it meets Uzbekistan’s Navbahor in Group D of the AFC Champions League 2023-24 on Monday.
The debutant from Iran heads into the second half of the group stage on three points, four adrift of leader Al Hilal SFC of Saudi Arabia.
Nassaji kicked off its campaign in style, cruising 2-0 past Mumbai City of India but has found the going tough since that win.
Two-time AFC Champions League winner Al Hilal proved too strong, with the Saudi Arabian side winning 3-0, while Uzbekistan's Navbahor edged the team 2-1 when the sides met two weeks ago.
Navbahor will be aiming to build on the victory in a campaign that has been impressive.
Still unbeaten, Navbahor came within seconds of defeating Al Hilal in its opening tie before settling for a 1-1 draw and was too strong for Mumbai City (3-0) and Nassaji and if it can maintains its form, a spot in the Round of 16 is very much possible.
