TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iran's Minister of Roads and Urban Development Mehrdad Bazrpash revealed plans for an upcoming sister-city agreement between Golestan province in Iran and five neighboring Caspian Sea littoral states.

Bazrpash stressed the imperative need for fortifying Golestan's port infrastructures, noting an acceleration in investments in the maritime sector after directives from the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, with a strategic emphasis on sea-oriented development.

Pointing to the strategic position of Golestan province along the International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC), Bazrpash underscored the province's unique potential, due to its proximity to the Republic of Turkmenistan.
