Iran’s Fars Province Exports over 745,000 Tons of Goods in 10 Months: Officials

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The director general of Fars province’s customs offices said that 745,746 tons of goods were exported from the customs offices of this southern Iranian province to the 60 countries in the world between March 21, 2023 and January 22, 2024.

The non-oil goods exported from the customs offices of this province to foreign countries in the first 10 months of the current Iranian calendar year (started March 21, 2023) registered a 10 and a 30 percent growth in volume and value respectively compared to last year’s corresponding period, Ayyoub Zarei stated.

He further noted that the revenues obtained in the provincial customs offices grew by 64 percent compared to the same period last year.

In this period, 360 various types of goods were exported to 60 countries in the world, he said, adding that aluminum ingot, steel ingot, urea fertilizer, ice cream, etc. were among the main products exported to the countries, including Turkey (34 percent), Indonesia (26 percent), China (20 percent), Qatar (6 percent), and the United Arab Emirates (20 percent), IMNA reported. 

Turning to the import of goods via the provincial customs offices, Zarei noted that more than 179,000 tons of goods, valued at over $259 million, were imported into the customs offices of this province from March 21, 2023, to January 22, 2024.

These products were imported in the customs offices of this province from China, India, Turkey, Indonesia and Germany, etc., he added.
