Iran Condemns Zionist Regime's Crimes on International Women's Day

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - The Iranian Foreign Ministry's spokesperson marked International Women's Day by condemning the crimes of the Zionist regime against the people of Gaza Strip.

"On March 8th and International Womens Day, it is crucial that we do not allow this day to be used as an opportunity for baseless statements from those who claim to support women's rights but have a dark record of violating human, cultural, and social rights," the spokesperson stated.

The spokesperson criticized the hypocrisy of those who have turned a blind eye to the brutal killings of innocent women and children in Palestine while supporting the regime of Israel that kills women and children mercilessly.

This year's International Women's Day, according to the spokesperson, should be dedicated to the lionesses and mothers of innocent Palestinian daughters, and should serve as an opportunity for global condemnation of the Israeli regime's crimes.

The spokesperson also highlighted the global demand for the expulsion of the usurping Zionist regime from the Commission on The Status of Women, citing the regime's killing of thousands of women and committing crimes against humanity, including organized starvation of the civilian population, especially women and children, adding that the regime's atrocities also include inflicting severe mental and psychological torments on mothers through the gradual death of their children.

The Iranian embassy in Lebanon echoed the sentiment expressed by the Foreign Ministry, emphasizing the importance of confronting and ending injustice against Palestinian women.

On its social media account on X, the embassy stated, "On #InternationalWomensDay, let's not forget that women empowerment and promotion of their rights hinges on confronting and ending injustice against them."

The embassy highlighted the ongoing occupation in Palestine and the invasion of Gaza as examples of depriving Palestinians, particularly women and children, of their rights. It criticized Israel for its crimes, stating that for the past five months, Israel has continued to slaughter Palestinians in Gaza, including more than 9,000 girls and women.

The embassy urged the UN Commission on the Status of Women to take action and withdraw the Zionist regime's membership to restore its credibility. It also urged the world to join the campaign to #RemoveIsraelFromUNCSW.
