Ministry Stresses Iran’s Balanced Foreign Relations

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran reaffirmed its commitment to the policy of expansion of balanced relations with the other countries by observing and protecting the Islamic Republic’s dignity and expediency.

In a statement on Sunday, the Foreign Ministry commemorated the 45th anniversary of adoption of the Islamic Republic as the official governing system of Iran.

Hailing the “Islamic Republic Day” as the continuation and evolution of the glorious path of the victory of the Islamic Revolution of Iran that is based upon “independence, freedom, and Islamic Republic”, the statement said those tenets were “realized and the late Imam’s struggle came to fruition, and the sacrifice of the Iranian nation coupled with their insight as well as the sacrifice of the eternally immortal martyrs of our homeland replaced a tyrannical, hereditary and puppet system with the Islamic Republic’s system.”

“The eager participation of the honorable people of Iran at the polls on March 30 and 31, 1979, led to a unique epic in the history of Iran and with 98.2 percent of the nation's votes, a large majority of the people approved the Islamic Republic’s ruling and the religious democracy model for Iran’s political system,” it added.

Honoring the struggle and efforts by the honorable people of Iran during the years of the battle against the sinister Pahlavi regime and hailing the sacrifices made by Iranians during the Sacred Defense years against foreign aggression and sacrifice for the protection of the security of Iran, the Foreign Ministry said it “renews its covenant with the great, enlightened and insightful nation of Iran and stresses on its determination to fulfil the late Imam’s cause and the sublime martyrs in protecting our independence and national interests in international fields according to the country’s Constitution, the instructions by the Leader of the Revolution and by focusing on the three principles of dignity, wisdom and expediency and the foreign policy approach of the 13th administration in promoting balanced and moderate ties with various countries in the world.”
