NATO Builds Its Policy under US Command, Top Security Official Says
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The entire NATO policy is being built under the command of the US, which uses the bloc to have a military presence in Europe, Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolay Patrushev said.
"The entire NATO policy is being built upon commands from Washington. It uses the alliance to maintain its military presence in Europe and to demonstrate its satellites’ support of its indispensability in regards to ensuring the security of this continent," Patrushev said in an interview with aif.ru, TASS reported.
He also noted that the US-controlled military bloc is supposed to exert illegitimate pressure of the so-called collective West on sovereign states using military, economic, informational and other resources.
"The bloody history of NATO’s existence is indicative of what threats this alliance poses for the world," Patrushev said.
"I will not delve into the bloody history of NATO, but one must know it in order to understand the alliance’s nature as a stable years-long source of danger, crises and conflicts," he stated.
