Iranian Athletes Win Medals at Asian U-20 Athletics Championships
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Nazanin Fatemeh Eidiyan and Mahdi Haftcheshmeh won two medals at the 21st Asian U-20 Athletics Championships.
Asian U-20 Athletics Championships Yecheon 2023 silver medalist Eidiyan put on an improved display to win the junior women’s race in 58.86 secs.
Indian Harshit Kumar sent the ball and chain to 66.70m for the gold in the men’s hammer throw, while Iran’s Haftcheshmeh claimed his second successive silver medal in this event as he did in Yecheon after missing the gold by just 6 cm.
The Asian U-20 Athletics Championships is also a qualifying event for the World U-20 Athletics Championships which will be held in Lima, Peru from August 27 to 31.
The competition is being held in Dubai, the UAE from April 24 to 27.
