Iran Resolved to Broaden Ties with Bosnia: President

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani expressed the country’s determination to promote cooperation with Bosnia and Herzegovina in various fields.

Rouhani on Monday sent a message to Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Zeljko Komsic to congratulate the Balkan nation on its Statehood Day.

He said the history of bilateral ties between Iran and Bosnia and Herzegovina shows that the two countries are determined to promote mutual cooperation in all fields.

Rouhani also expressed hope for the deepening of the ties between the two countries in future.

Statehood Day is a holiday celebrated on November 25 in Bosnia and Herzegovina to mark the declaration of a resolution by the State Anti-fascist Council for the National Liberation of Bosnia and Herzegovina back in 1943.

In March 2018, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif paid a visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina and met with senior Bosnian officials.

In his meeting with Bosnian Premier Denis Zvizdic, Zarif expressed Iran’s readiness to cooperate with all Bosnian ethnicities, highlighted the need for regular sessions of joint economic commission, and called for efforts to ease visa regime between the two nations.
