Iran’s Top Judge to Visit Iraq

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Judiciary Chief Seyed Ebrahim Raeisi plans to visit Baghdad to sign several memoranda of understanding, the Supreme Judicial Council of Iraq said.

According to the Supreme Judicial Council of Iraq, the Iranian Judiciary chief is planned to travel to Baghdad on Monday, February 8, with a high-ranking delegation.

The Iranian team is scheduled to sign a number of memorandums of understanding on judicial and legal cooperation with the Supreme Judicial Council of Iraq on Tuesday.

The Iranian delegation will also ink other agreements with Iraq’s Ministry of Justice, the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights in Iraq, and an Iraqi transparency authority.

The upcoming visit will take place at the invitation of President of Iraq’s Supreme Judicial Council Faiq Zidan.
