Syria Calls on UNSC to Condemn Israeli Aggression on Its Territories

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Syria has declared that Israel's dawn attack on its territory on Thursday is a flagrant breach of the disengagement agreement, and has called on the United Nations and the Security Council to condemn it.

“At 1:38 a.m. on Thursday, April 22nd, 2021, Israeli occupation forces launched a new missile attack on Syrian lands from the direction of the occupied Syrian Golan, targeting several regions in the vicinity of Damascus in blatant violation of the 1974 Agreement on Disengagement,” the Foreign and Expatriates Ministry said in a statement.

Syria also calls on the UN, especially the Security Council, to denounce Israel's cowardly attack and the hostile repeated actions against Syria's sovereignty committed by the three occupiers, Israel, the United States, and Turkey, in a systematic manner.

Syria, as a founding member of the United Nations, continues to demand that the UN General Secretariat and Security Council fulfill their obligations under the UN Charter, including sustaining international peace and security, obliging Israel to uphold the resolution relating to the 1974 Disinterment Agreement, and bringing all parties that support terrorism and launch aggressions on Syrian soil to justice.
