Asian Weightlifting Championships: Iran’s Moradi Wins Silver
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Sohrab Moradi from Iran won a silver medal at the 2021 Asian Weightlifting Championships on Friday.
Moradi, the Rio 2016 Olympics gold medal winner, came second in the 96kg class after lifting 174kg in snatch and 210kg in clean and jerk for a total of 384kg.
Tian Tao from China won the gold medal with 175-211-386.
Korean weightlifter Jang Yeon-hak took the bronze medal with a total of 379kg.
Another Iranian weightlifter Kianoush Rostami had won a gold medal on Thursday in the 89kg weight category.
The rescheduled 2020 Asian Weightlifting Championships (AWC) are taking place in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, from April 16-25, 2021.
