Iran Eyes Growing Ties with Tanzania

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s president expressed hope for the expansion of relations with Tanzania in all fields.

President Hassan Rouhani on Monday sent a message to his Tanzanian counterpart Samia Suluhu Hassan, congratulating the East African nation on its Union Day.

Hailing the age-old relations between Tehran and Dodoma that are based upon mutual respect, the Iranian president hoped that cooperation between the two countries would grow in all fields to serve the interests of the two nations.

He also wished the Tanzanian president and people health and prosperity.

The 57th anniversary of the creation of the United Republic of Tanzania is celebrated on April 26, known as the Union Day.

It marks the unification of Tanganyika and the People's Republic of Zanzibar in 1964.
