Iran’s Daily Coronavirus Death Toll Climbs above 200

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – More than 200 coronavirus patients died in Iran over the past 24 hours, the Health Ministry said on Thursday.

The ministry’s public relations office put the death toll from COVID-19 in the country from noon Wednesday to noon Thursday at 201.

This brings the total coronavirus death toll in Iran to 86,592.

So far, 3,464,055 coronavirus cases have been detected in the country after 23,655 new cases were reported in the past 24 hours, the ministry said.

It added that at least 3.86 million patients have recovered from the coronavirus infection so far or have been discharged from hospitals across Iran.

It also said that more than 24.8 million coronavirus diagnostic tests have been carried out in Iran so far and over 5.5 million people have received the first dose of coronavirus vaccine.

Worldwide, over 189 million people have been infected with COVID-19 and more than 4 million have died of the disease.
