Lebanon’s Resolve Unaffected by US Aggressive Moves: Hezbollah MP

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A representative of Hezbollah in Lebanon’s parliament denounced the “hostile and aggressive” American policies towards his country, stressing that the US president’s move to extend a national emergency with respect to Lebanon will not change anything or damage anyone’s willpower.

In an interview with Al-Mayadeen, Hezbollah’s MP in the 'Loyalty to the Resistance' bloc of the Lebanese Parliament, Ibrahim al-Moussawi, commented on the US president’s decision to extend the "National Emergency with Respect to Lebanon" for another year, stressing that such move will not change any equation.

"The Axis of Resistance is steadfast, will not cave in to pressure, and will not initiate any attacks," he said, adding that the Israeli threats against Lebanon are aimed at extorting additional aid from the US.

"They do not affect the Resistance, rather they reflect fear of the Resistance's capabilities," al-Moussawi stressed.

"Israelis want to escalate the situation and heat things up. The Resistance is ready to repel any aggression," he added.

The MP underlined that the Resistance has a right to defend Lebanon, stating that an Israeli aggression is unlikely soon, because the Zionist regime cannot afford it.

In a statement to the US Congress on July 20, Joe Biden announced that the national emergency with respect to Lebanon would be extended.
