Foreign Officials Voice Eagerness to Work with Iran’s New Admin

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The new foreign minister of Iran continues to receive congratulatory messages from his counterparts in different parts of the world who have expressed willingness to boost political and economic cooperation with Tehran.

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian on Wednesday received congratulatory messages on taking office in separate telephone conversations with his counterparts from France, Italy, India, Turkmenistan, Japan and Armenia.

Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rasit Meredow said his country will keep working in close cooperation with Iran with the purpose of strengthening the “brotherly, friendly and traditional” ties and fulfilling the interests of the two nations.

In another phone call, Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio expressed confidence that the promotion of fruitful relations between Rome and Tehran on the basis of their historical friendship will help boost regional collaborations as well as economic and cultural interaction.

Di Maio also gave an assurance that his country will stand with Iran in dealing with the urgent medical challenges within the framework of the World Health Organization's COVAX program.

In separate talks, Foreign Minister of Japan Motegi Toshimitsu and Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan also voiced their countries’ readiness to enhance relations with Iran in various fields.
