Workers Demand Better Working Conditions in Paris March (+Video)

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Hundreds of French essential workers and members of labor unions marched in Paris to demand better working and wage conditions.

Essential retail workers, security guards, cleaning company employees, childcare workers and many were seen marching through the streets with signs and banners.

According to the latest figures from Public Health France, 315,363 new cases were recorded in twenty-four hours on Wednesday. Hospitalizations seem to be stabilizing. On Wednesday, there were 32,720 patients with a Covid-19 diagnosis, compared to 32,894 on Tuesday.

According to TellerReport, a march for second line workers organized in Paris to demand wage increases due to work strains caused by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

 

 

The march came one week after tens of thousands across France joined demonstrations organized by the CGT, FO, FSU and Solitaires union confederations.

The CFDT is organizing more marches demand better consideration for essential workers in the health crisis.

According to the French Minister of Health Olivier Véran, France would have passed the peak of contaminations and would be reaching that of hospitalizations.
