Iran Vows Response after Martyrdom of IRGC Forces in Israeli Attack

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry strongly condemned an Israeli missile attack that led to martyrdom of two IRGC forces in Syria, reminding the Zionist regime that its brazen action will not go unpunished.

In a statement on Wednesday, Saeed Khatibzadeh vehemently condemned the Zionist regime’s criminal act as its missile attack on a region near Damascus on Monday resulted in the martyrdom of two forces of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) serving as defenders of the holy religious sites.

Offering his condolences to the families of the two martyrs and their comrades in the IRGC, the spokesman said such a criminal attack originates from the aggression, occupation and terror that are in the Zionist regime’s nature.

The brazen Israeli action and the operations by the assassination machine of the child-killing Zionist regime will definitely not go unpunished, Khatibzadeh stated.

He also said that one of the purposes of the axis of resistance in the region is to hold the apartheid Israeli regime accountable for such inhumane crimes.

Two IRGC forces, named Colonel Ehsan Karbalaeepour and Colonel Morteza Saeednejad, were martyred following a missile attack by the Israeli regime on the outskirts of Damascus on Monday.

Israel has been a key supporter of terrorist groups that have opposed the government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad since foreign-backed militancy erupted in Syria in March 2011.
