Veselin Vujovic Takes Charge of Iran Handball Team

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Veselin Vujovic arrived in Iran to take charge of the National Team in the upcoming events.

The Iran handball federation reached an agreement with the 61-year-old coach and he arrived in Iran to finalize his contract.

Vujovic was named as the best athlete of Yugoslavia in 1986.

He was the first player to receive the title of the IHF World Player of the Year.

In 1984 he was a member of the Yugoslav national team which won the gold medal at the Olympics. He played all the six matches and scored 28 goals.

Four years later he was part of the Yugoslav team which won the bronze medal. He played all the six matches again and scored 29 goals.
