Iran Downs Kyrgyzstan to Advance to 2022 AFC Futsal Asian Cup
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran defeated Kyrgyzstan 8-1 in Group A of the 2022 AFC Futsal Asian Cup Kuwait qualification on Tuesday.
Team Melli had previously defeated the Maldives (17-0) and Turkmenistan (3-0) in the group.
Maskat Alimov scored for Kyrgyzstan but Hossein Tayebi levelled the score.
Morteza Ezzati doubled Iran’s lead.
Alireza Rafieipour scored a brace to make the scoreboard 4-1.
Mohammad Hossein Derakhshani, Hamzeh Kadkhoda, Masoud Abbasi and Masoud Yousef Shavardazi scored a goal each.
The 2022 AFC Futsal Asian Cup will be held in Kuwait from September 25 to October 20.
Iran is the defending champion, having won the title in 2018.
