Friendly: Iran Football Team Beats Nicaragua
TEHRAN (Tasnim)– Iran football team defeated Nicaragua 1-0 in a friendly match in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium on Thursday.
Mehdi Torabi found the back of the net in the 15th minute.
The match was held behind closed doors.
Iran's foreign-based players were absent in this match.
Carlos Queiroz’s side will also play Tunisia in a friendly match in Doha, Qatar.
Iran edged Uruguay 1-0 and drew 1-1 with Senegal in late September in a training camp in Austria.
Team Melli has been drawn in Group B of the 2022 FIFA World Cup along with England, the US and Wales.
Iran will start the campaign with a match against England on November 21.
