Israeli Forces Kill Palestinian Man in West Bank Raid

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Israeli forces killed a young Palestinian man and injured another during a raid on a refugee camp in the occupied West Bank, marking the continuation of a year-long surge in violence with no signs of abating.

According to witnesses who spoke to the Palestinian Safa news agency, a large number of Israeli troops entered the Askar refugee camp on the outskirts of Nablus in the early hours of Monday.

Confrontations erupted between Israeli soldiers and resistance forces in the area, resulting in intense gunfire from both sides.

Ahmad Jibril, the head of the Palestinian Red Crescent Emergency and Ambulance Department in Nablus, informed the official Palestinian news agency WAFA that two Palestinians were shot with live bullets during the clashes. One of them tragically lost his life, while the other was critically wounded with a gunshot to the chest.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health identified the deceased as Saleh Mohammad Sabra, 22, stating that he was struck in the chest by an Israeli live bullet.

In addition to the raid, Israeli forces surrounded the family home of Abdel Fattah Hussein Kharousha, a member of the Hamas resistance group who carried out a retaliatory operation in the West Bank town of Huwara last February, resulting in the killing of two Israeli settlers. The forces were reportedly preparing to demolish the house.

Israel's longstanding policy of demolishing the homes of attackers has faced criticism from human rights organizations, which deem it as collective punishment.
