Iran, Belarus Weigh Plans to Boost Trade Exchanges

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The foreign ministers of Iran and Belarus discussed the ways to promote political and economic cooperation between the two countries, increase the bilateral trade exchanges, and carry out joint industrial projects.

In a meeting on the sidelines of a meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement in Baku on Thursday, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and his Belarusian counterpart Sergei Aleinik talked about the course of cooperation between the two countries in light of the agreements signed during Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko's visit to Iran in March.

The two senior diplomats also discussed the political, economic, scientific, cultural and consular cooperation between Tehran and Minsk.

The further talked about the regional and international developments and the cooperation between Iran and Belarus in the regional and international organizations.

Amirabdollahian and Aleinik also discussed a roadmap to cooperation between the two countries and weighed plans to carry out the bilateral agreements.

They stressed the need to speed up the implementation of the deals in order to increase trade exchanges, carry out joint industrial projects and promote transportation and transit cooperation.
