TEHRAN (Tasnim) – After visiting high capacities and potentials of Amirabad Port in the north of Iran on Tuesday, representatives of Russia’s second largest bank “VTB” urged commissioning a branch office in Iran’s free and special economic zones.

The representatives of the VTB Bank toured Amirabad Port, aimed at conducting feasibility studies for developing, investing and establishing a new credit line and banking services.

During the visit, the Iranian and Russian sides emphasized taking advantage of the potentials of the two countries in line with strengthening the exchange of goods with a focus on the port.

Mutual currency interaction to spur export activities, transit of products, and creation of effective monetary processes, which will lead to preventing any damage to the owners of goods, were among the other issues discussed between the two sides.

Also, the representatives of VTB pointed out that the use of Ro-Ro rail wharf in Amirabad Port will strengthen the exchange of goods in the International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC).

Elaborating on Iran’s share in Russia’s market, the director general of Amirabad Port clarified the high capacities and investment opportunities of the port to the representatives of the Russian Bank.
