Tehran, Minsk Discuss Visa Facilitation, Exempting Transit of Road Fleet

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Officials from Iran and Belarus agreed on the exemption of road transit fleets in the territories of each other and also the facilitation of issuing visas.

In the 5th Iran-Belarus Joint Road International Transportation Committee, which was held at the venue of the Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization of Iran within the framework of the 16th Iran-Belarus Joint Economic Commission, Director General of International Transport and Transit Office Javad Hedayati appreciated the interaction between Tehran and Minsk within the framework of the 15th Iran-Belarus Joint Economic Cooperation Commission held in July 2022 and stated that the previous edition of the commission created a giant development in cementing road transportation cooperation between the two sides.

The deputy roads minister placed special emphasis on the necessity of more accurate and direct coordination of the transport officials of the two countries for accelerating the implementation of the agreement in line with lifting the transit license.

Head of the Automobile and Urban Passenger Transport Office of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Belarus Andrei Gladky, in his turn, stressed the need for deepening bilateral ties and interactions in the relevant field.

Iran and Belarus enjoy high potentials to expand their cooperation in the fields of transport and transit, he underlined.

It is hoped that the high potentials and capacities of the two countries will help boost the trade and economic activities between Tehran and Minsk, Gladky added.
